Xavier Lyric to Beatles "Back in the USSR'
April 02, 2012 | 06:40 PM
....to the tune of "Back in the USSR", by John Winston Lennon/ Paul James McCartney.
Flew into Miami Beach from Indian Wells,
Hey it's good to be back home!
Got tix to the tourney Sony Ericsson, Xperia's their brand new phone
I'm back in the flow, Florida,
I don't know how lucky I am, boy
Back in the Sunshine State !
Jisner was the man before at BNP,
Beat Nole who is # 1.
Then came to Key Biscayne to lose in just round 3,
whatever happened to Big John ?
I'm back in the flow, Florida
You don't know how lucky you are,boy
Back in the flow, back in the Flo-Flo-ri-da.
Well the Russian girls really knock me out,
We all hear Vika's song.
And Moscow girls sure can sing and shout,
Maria drowns out Vika with her shrieking Sharapo-va-va !
A-Rod pounded Fed-Express as Mirka wept,
Brooklyn Decker missed the show.
So Roddick partied solo and he barely slept,
Then fizzled out to Monaco.
I'm back in the flow-Florida.
You don't know how SouBeesh can glow, now.
Back in the Florida.....
Jim Courier sports a bearded frown,
his Cup squad was a bust.
The B-twins, Fish, Roddick and Big John,
all dashed his expectations and went down-down-down-down-down-down-DOWN !
Rory has a pied-à -terre in North Palm Beach,
young man with a Masters plan.
Commuting to Miami to watch Wozniacki,
the Irishman's her biggest fan.
Back on the I-95,
You don't know how lucky you are, boy.
The envy of the PGA, boy.
Back in the flow... Florida....
Come on down to Key Biscayne and have a toast,
Veuve Clicquot or Pisco sours.
Corona, Bacardi mojito pitchers flow,
Miami's biggest Happy Hour!
I'm back in the flow-Florida,
you don't know how lucky you are, boy.
Back in the Florida....
Maria now "Robo-Bartolis",
she swings practice ' tween the points.
But every hit vents the same old screams,
So what can anybody do to tone down all the noise-noise-NOISE !?
Final matches featured USAF F-16's,
buzzed the stadium, rang our bells.
They flew so low and fast they broke the speed of sound,
A wake-up call for old Fidel?
I'm back in the flow Florida,
See you in little Havana,
Back in the Flo......
Monaco the Argentine had crowd support,
made him feel just right at home.
But Djoker spoiled his party holding down the fort,
Ole-Oles for Juan died down,
sent back to the Argentine Pampa,
He couldn't do the Big Danza,
Back in the Flo, ......
The final round featured 1 & 4,
a Serbian seeks revenge.
St. Andrew's cross was too much to bear,
The vultures started circling,
(a tiebreaker !)
Then twas all over.
AY , where was Rafa after thwarting Tsonga's bombs?
Looking for a cute masseuse?
Frequenting Club Rehab on his bended knees,
The treatment was all on SoouuuuBeeeeeeeesshhhh !!!
Now back to Monte Carlo,
You don't know how lucky you are, boy,
Back to the clay, go for # 8 ,
Back to the Ri-vi-e-ra !
Sent from my iPhone
Xavier - Many thanks - very enjoyable! (Bryan Bros should record your version of the Beatles lyric among their classic rock covers!).
All such contributions welcome!
At Jet Blue's terminal in LAX, what we saw the middle of the 2nd set was full of missiles that missed. Gimelblab noted they'd each made about 30 UE's by mid-set, putting their errors at about the 2 per game each which had cost Maria her match. In this case, in spite of the errors that let Murray into the set, it was certainly Joker who played the dominant, superior tennis and deserved to win.
Ivan and Andy may be singing the blues: but they should be getting Andy back to the form that he showed in Dubai when he played much more aggressively:
- the only time Andy seemed able to control points was on his first serve, which only connected 55% of the time. In the first set, he didn't even win half the points when he got his first serve in play.
- allowing Joker 4 chances to break each set is a measure of how much difficulty he had holding
- his vaunted return of serve earned him 1 of 8 points on Joker's 2nd serve in the 1st set, and while he improved this to 50% in the 2nd set, taking only 30% of 2nd serve points is a problem against anyone, and earned him only 1 break chance
Having played only 4 tournament matches in March prior to the final isn't enough of an excuse to play so poorly. When Joker lost to Andy in February, he'd even fewer matches that month.
