4th Round Preview; Day 7 Match-Ups

January 21, 2012 | 05:51 PM

- In action along with Wozniacki, 6 women who've achieved the #1 ranking (a record this late in a draw?)

- BOTH men's & women's 4th rounds contain 11 nationalities (3 Serbian women; 4 Spanish men)

- The top 5 remain in both draws

- 8 of the top 10 men's seeds are alive (Fish & Tipsarevic are gone), and 6 of the top 10 women

- of the other 22 men's seeds, 4 remain (#11 Delpo; # 17 Gasquet; #18 Lopez; #22 Nishikori)

- of the other 22 women, 6 remain including 3 former #1's (#11 Clijsters; #12 Serena; #13 Jankovic; #14 Lisicki; #21 Ivanovic; #22 Goerges)

BEST MEN'S MATCH-UPS: No surprises expected from these, but the pick of the litter

- Federer v. Tomic

- Nadal v Lopez [LIVE about 9pm on ESPN2]

- Del Potro v Kohlschreiber [LIVE tonight after 3 women's doubles matches on ESPN2]

- Tomic has played more tennis than anyone in the tournament (14 sets, 10+ hours)

- Tomic has lost all 3 first sets in his matches, so don't expect a fast start

- Federer has played less than 4 hours in his two straight matches (his 3rd was a walkover),

but expect him to start fast

- SO - Tomic will have to play catch-up against a great front runner

- Nadal has lost twice to Lopez in 10 matches, but only grass and carpet; he's never lost a set to

him on hard or clay

- Del Potro is 4-0 and with Kohlschreiber, and has lost only 1 set to him

- Clijsters v. Li (last year's Ozzie finalists) [LIVE after Nadal]

- Wozniacki v. Jankovic (two #1's who've never won a Major)

- Sharapova v. Lisicki (re-match of '11 Wimbledon semis won by Maria 6-4, 6-3)
