revised schedule, weather forecast for Tennis Center

Order of Play, Priorities in Catch-up Day

September 07, 2011 | 07:41 AM

The key match-up of the day: the rain vs. the courts at the BJK Tennis Center

9am 25% chance of rain

10am 30%

11am 35%

12pm 35%

1pm 20%

2-9pm 30%

10pm 50%

11pm 60%

12am 60%

Prediction: There will be tennis today, and many wet towels because they actually don't have a roof or a plan for one. I think this is a slightly better prediction than my last one (that Fish would win the title; remains to be seen if I got the other finalist right in picking Murray).

What the USTA is hoping to play today: 2 days of key singles matches, including:

- the 4 men's 4th rounders unplayed (Nadal, Muray, Ferer v Roddick, and Isner)

- the first 2 men's quarters (Fed v Tsonga, Joker v Tipsy)

- all 4 women's quarters

THE ORDER OF PLAY (eg. priorities) in the 3 stadia:

First up: 3 of the 4 men's 4th rounders

- Nadal v Muller in Ashe

- Roddick v Ferrer in Armstrong

- Murray v Young in Grandstand

Next:

- Joker v Tipsy in Ashe

- Stosur v Zvonareva in Armstrong

- Isner v Simon in Grandstand

Last:

- Serena v A-Pav in Ashe; then

- Roger v Tsonga in Ashe

- Woz v Petco in Armstrong

- Kerber v Pennetta in Grandstand

What got demoted to lesser courts:

- Back where you belong: Sock-Oudin v Paes-Vesnina mixed from ASHE to Court 11

- Where we should have put you in the 1st place: Young v Murray from ASHE to Grandstand

- Now in front of the craziest NY fans: Roddick v Ferrer from Ashe to Armstrong

- Still in front of corporate box holders in ASHE who won't show up or sit outside if they do:

- Rafa v Muller

- PRIME TIME - Day Session: Rafa v Muller; Joker v Tipsy

- PRIME TIME - Evening Session: Serena v A-Pav; then Rog v Jo in ASHE

- Too Bad: Isner v Simon, Pennetta v Kerber from Armstrong to Grandstand
