Mission Viejo Wheelchair Camp Opens

The Sixth Annual USTA/ITF Cruyff Foundation Junior Wheelchair Camp Americas is taking place this week in Mission Viejo, California.

This camp is designed for wheelchair youth with a permanent disabling condition from ages 12 to 18.

There are two "tracks" at the Camp with both advanced players and beginners welcomed.

Young people from North, Central, and South America are participating at the Felipe Tennis Center in MIssion Viejo. This year, players from Mexico, El Salvador, Argentina, Guatemala and Chile will take part.

Hosted by the United States Tennis Association and the International Tennis Federation in partnership with the City, the Junior Wheelchair Tennis Camp is designed to teach and train advanced to beginner wheelchair-bound juniors on the sport of tennis.

Some of the best coaches in the nation are instructing and match players will participate in a tournament for ITF Junior Ranking points.

The camp's goal is to offer young athletes professional sports training and the chance to develop lasting friendships.
