Brisbane International told Serena will Play

Serena is recovering from surgery on both big toes according to her agent and expects to play at the Brisbane International, December 30 - January 5.

Since 2010 when she severely cut both feet, she has experienced a series of foot problems.

Yesterday, it was announced that she was withdrawing from an exhibition match against Victoria Azarenka in Thailand after minor surgery on both of her great toes.

Serena was the WTA Player of the Year and won Wimbledon, the U.S. Open and the London Olympics.

Brisbane International Tournament Director Cameron Pearson said he was assured that she will be ready to play at the Queensland tournament.
